'Simplicity, is also a bliss'

Yesterday when I was working, I stood in front of my shop, just staring into space and a old couple approached me and asked for the directions to the food court
I gave her directions, they thanked me and walked off slowly
they are really polite, the husband still make the effort to bow and thank me lightly even though his wife already said so,
just after the husband thanked me, the wife gradually held his hand ; their hands interlocked each other tightly, as if they are relying on each other for support

I don't know why but I felt a little touched at that moment, like what everyone always feel 'oh so sweeeeeeet' when they saw old couple holding hands and walk off together
it just suddenly dawn to me that actually living simply is also a bliss
you don't have to go to posh restaurants or cafes for dinner because food court is more than enough

I still remember when I was on internship and I read the newspaper about a family living in poverty and the article stated 'because they live simply, they are happy'
i know this phrase is kind of over-rated because everyone wish they can live in a more simple world
but living simply can be a choice too

Many times I really felt that we are living in such a fast-paced world that wherever we go, we are always in a rush
a very good example: the MRT stations
you can always see people rushing off somewhere, walking so fast, even over-taking other people
whatever things we want, we want it fast, we want it quick
we hate to wait, hate to queue and we can just see this in our everyday lives.

And one of the reason why we choose not to live simply because of those desires, those materialistic wants
we can just have simple meal by buying our own ingredients or head down to the nearest coffee shop
instead we have our own cravings, we feel like eating a particular dish at a certain restaurant or cafe
another example: we want the latest phone model/laptop/designer bag/kicks
instead we actually can settle on what we have and be thankful for it, instead of wishing for more.
I am as guilty as what I just said as well, it's really hard to live simply in this advanced world where competition takes place, where our ego is more important than anything

Okay i can't think of a conclusion now
my eyes are closing real soon, my off day seems so far away from me sobs
